My first visit was for a teeth cleaning and whitening with Dr. Daniela, and my second visit was for Botox with Dr. Aurea. Both experiences exceeded my expectations. The entire staff was absolutely fantastic. Everyone was so welcoming, kind, and professional from the moment I walked in. Their English was perfect, which made everything easy and stress free. I felt genuinely well taken care of during both visits, and everyone made me feel comfortable throughout the treatments. I’m extremely happy with the results, and it’s clear that the team truly cares about their patients and provides excellent service. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for high quality dental and aesthetic treatments. I’ll definitely be back!

Experiência fantástica: Desde que cheguei a Portugal, só faço agendamentos aqui. Da recepção aos médicos, é possível ver muito profissionalismo e ética. Fiz a exodontia dos meus dois sisos com o dr. Pedro Albino e a experiência foi incrível. Ele tem a mão muito leve, e não tive qualquer problema no pós. Quanto a limpeza (que geralmente faço com a higienista), fica impecável, e sem nenhum tártaro. Recomendo esta clínica de olhos fechados.

Experiência negativa: A minha experiência com esta clínica não foi positiva. Um implante que estava previsto durar cerca de 45 minutos acabou por demorar aproximadamente 3 horas. Após o procedimento, o meu estado de saúde levou-me a necessitar de baixa médica durante uma semana. Com base nesta experiência, não recomendo a clínica.

Experiência negativa: Fiz uma marcação para as 16h. Ligaram-me para alterar o horário da consulta, tendo dito que a mesma seria às 17:45. Dirijo-me ao local à hora e dizem-me que a consulta era às 15:45 e que “a clínica fecharia em 15 minutos”. Desorganização total. Secretaria péssima. Fizeram-me perder tempo e dinheiro. Não aconselho.

The receptionist listened to me and refused to admit me because the system was frozen. After I asked her to ask the doctor if he could take it. She pretended not to hear me. Entretanto, fiquei fiel aos vossos serviços. O atendimento é de excelência. Toda a equipa é muito simpática. O acolhimento é sempre atencioso. O espaço é limpo e apelativo. São honestos e transparentes no momento de facturar o serviço. Cumprem o horário da consulta. Têm um horário alargado que permite conciliar com o trabalho. O que se pode querer mais?! Quando sou abordada na rua e me propõem um check-up gratuito noutra clínica... nem hesito! Jamais! Votos de êxito para as clínicas medidental e todos os seus colaboradores.

Experiência negativa: I’m writing this because since stopping being a patient at Medidental due to their lack of professionalism & kindness… I’ve had a gum graft in a different clinic to treat my receding gums & exposed tooth roots. Medidental never suggested any sort of treatment for this despite my complaints. They also let me do teeth whitening, which I’ve now learned teeth with receding gums are not suitable for teeth whitening. Which explains why I had excruciating, unbearable tooth pain after the whitening treatment. But when I called to complain they said “sensitivity is normal”. The pain I had is not normal, neither is the lack of communication between your doctors. One suggests one thing, the other suggests another. Very glad I found a better dentist in a different clinic.

Experiência negativa: Awful. I’m strongly not recommend this clinic. I came with a complaint of a very sharp pain in the tooth, I had a nerve exposed on my wisdom tooth. The pain was wild. the doctor examined me, suffered for a long time, but she couldn’t take a picture of my tooth herself and sent me for X-ray after she said that I just had a normal inflammation and I needed to drink antibiotics and painkillers for 8 days, and only then after 8 days they could remove the aching tooth. During the conversation, it turned out that she was not examining the tooth that was hurting, she just did not understand me. But even after she discovered a right problem tooth, she said that everything was the same just to drink antibiotics and painkillers for 8 days. It seemed absurd to me because the tooth hurt so much that I could not touch it with my tongue from pain, I could not imagine how I would live 8 days with a bare nerve. Immediately after this non-professional visit, I decided to go to another clinic, where I had a damaged tooth removed in 3 minutes without pain at all. If I had listened to the treatment of a doctor from Medidental, I would have suffered for 8 days and it is not yet known what was with the tooth, perhaps an infection would develop there and there would be very sad consequences. I do not recommend this clinic. Doctors of a lowest professionalism level work here. UPD: They are also liars because all they do in response to my review is deeply lie. They never proposed to me to remove 2 teeth, and it's NOT that I have bad English, it's that YOUR STAFF DIDN'T SPEAK ENGLISH. Awful, lying service, disgusting and dangerous!!!

Experiência fantástica: I had lost half of my tooth in an accident. Everything was fixed at the second appointment. A really great dentist, all the staff speak English and everyone was really friendly. I can only recommend it to anyone.

Experiência negativa: I would be very careful before allowing this clinic to do any procedures on your teeth. I came for a check up, was told I needed a filling, to which I was very surprised because my teeth were given the all clear 6 months prior. However I decided they must know what they are talking about. After the filling I was in a huge amount of pain for weeks. I came back in and was told I needed a root canal. I seeked advise from 2 other dentists because I thought this was crazy. After more x-rays I was told both times that the inside looked normal but my tooth had been drilled down so much that it resembled the tooth of an 80 year old. I'm 42. The protective layer had been drilled down because I was experiencing pain after the filling and Meditental thought the tooths was touching the top one. It's now 10 months later and I still can't chew properly on my left side. I will have to have the filling taken out, redone and a fake protective layer on top. I'm furious because I didn't actually need a filling in the first place, it was done as a precaution. This was on top of another very expensive procedure that claimed to fix gum disease because I was experiencing pain. After 10 months I'm still experiencing pain and I have now found out that my tooth is moving thus causing pain to the gum area in question, and likely had nothing to do with gum disease. I hate leaving bad reviews, however in this case I feel this clinic treats expats like cash cows instead of being honest about the actual treatment that is needed. The staff are very friendly but in these cases the treatment is questionable. I have since found another dentist in Lisbon who is reliable and honest. If you're doing a big procedure, I would seek alternative advice before going ahead with this clinic.

Experiência fantástica: I was on holiday in Lisbon when I got really nasty toothache and infection which caused my cheek to get swollen, so I contacted the closest dental clinic, in this case - Medidental clinic. They were able to make an appointment later the same day. The staff was very nice and helpful, they all spoke English well and the dentist was really considerate and careful. There was nothing much the dentist could do because of the infection, so she took an x-ray, explained me what is causing the infection, prescribed antibiotics and explained what should I do after. I paid 30 EUR for the visit. The overall experience was pleasant considering I was in pain and very nervous. I definitely recommend this clinic. The antibiotics worked their magic and I got better the next day and was able to fully enjoy the rest of my holiday.

O trabalho não ficou terminado. Cheguei a casa e ainda fiquei com tártaro nos dentes inferiores e manchas em vários dentes. Não recomendo a ninguém. O meu nome é exactamente este. Primeiro e último. Maria lisboa. Foi-me pedido o cartão do cidadão 2 vezes: na marcação da consulta e no dia da consulta. Estranho é que não conste nos vossos registos. Também me telefonaram no dia da consulta a tentar alterar a hora da consulta 1 hora mais cedo, das 18h00 para as 17h00. Como não podia, manteve-se para as 18h00. Deduzo que a médica se queria despachar. Porque em outros dentistas quando a anestesia local com Emla não foi suficiente faziam a infiltrativa com agulha na cavidade oral. E resultava. Aqui não sugeriram mas eu pedi e disseram que não ia tirar a dor. Não insisti, até porque não queria um médico indisposto a tratar-me a boca. Este testemunho é real,sim.

Great dentist who was super helpful and explained everything. After a check up, any areas of concern where explained to me and I was given a detailed cost. Fantastic clinic (Alcântara and Campo de Ourique), wonderful staff. Very happy with my experiences and will definiteley return!

Experiência negativa: Cavity filling fell off, Gum recession unnoticed, Contradictory diagnostic (pictures below) - you get what you pay for, right? How did it happen? I found them on this budget-aggregator "MyGon" (Groupon alternative, cheap price deals website). As my parents ever said "you get what you pay for". It couldn't be more real and I've learnt it the hard way. What happened? One of my premolars/molars was starting to annoy me. I’ve picked this clinic out of this "hot" deals site. They ran a full mouth x-ray and the dentist spotted the cavity. We booked a second appointment to treat it. The treatment itself went fairly well, although the dentist warned me that "your cavity has some depth and I may damage the nerve treating it. If that happens, we need to devitalise it". This was undoubtedly the quickest cavity treatment I ever had which sparked my attention. The next few days were unusually painful. I was told it was “okay” to feel some discomfort, however it didn’t stop after 1 week and I called in the clinic to have a look at it. I got a different dentist; after a few pounding and sensitivity tests, she told me bluntly "it needs to be devitalised". I said "How come?! The treatment was so quick, no nerve damage, how come it needs to be devitalised now?" - she shrugged her shoulders and said "I didn't do your consultation or treatment...". She prescribed some Bruffen for the inflammation. After a week, the pain was still there. Came out of there thinking “I need to get a second opinion from a different clinic” Second opinion and gum recession Went to a different clinic nearby and the dentist spotted a gum recession which had my tooth nerve wide visible and exposed to pain. He told me “that needs to be covered urgently” - how could that go completely unnoticed by Medidental staff? Back to Medidental Told the dentist about the gum recession which she acknowledged "indeed, that needs covering. Here’s our price". I replied perplexed "how come you didn't spot it when I first came in?!". After a shrug of shoulders "I didn't do your consultation…”. Cavity filling fell off whilst eating cereal Days passed, Sunday night, I was eating my cereal and bit on something hard; spit all the cereals (sorry for the image) and after rummaging on the chewed cereals, found my cavity filling! (photo below). Couldn't believe it. My treated tooth was WIDE OPENED and simply breathing in/out was PAINFUL as hell. I called up Medidental: closed. I found out this all year round opened clinic that treated my tooth. Weeks passed and I don’t feel any sensitivity or pain, whatsoever. Medidental complaint and owner reply We all make mistakes, right? In our daily jobs, we are not perfect and I'm no different from anyone else. Problem is: when you make them, don't take ownership and hide, waiting for it to go away. Firstly, I went back to the clinic with the loose filling in a tupper to make a formal complaint. "Listen, I had this cavity treatment here, the resin filling fell off a few weeks after. I got it treated in a random clinic on a Sunday night. They were able to fix it in 2 sessions and it cost me 145 EUR”. Receptionist: “I can’t make that decision, I’ll talk to the manager” It took Filipe Durao (the owner) 1 month to approach me. His own words “we are sorry you weren’t satisfied with our services.” Could it be a more “copy&paste, saved reply”? Would anyone be satisfied with a surprise like this in the mid of the night? Why not to admit the mistake and offer compensation? They did offer a 45 EUR refund for the cavity treat I got there and to redo the treatment; which I kindly declined, both. It cost me 145 EUR to get it fixed + all the dread I went through not even adding to the bill... and they offered to treat me after I had treatment in another clinic… right :/ I got back to the owner reasoning why would be fair getting a full refund. It’s been a month now, he hasn’t come back to me. I'm getting back to Alcântara clinic to get at least the 45 spent there. Disclaimer: I had treatment and/or diagnostic in Alcântara & Campo de Ourique clinics.

Experiência negativa: This is the most unprofessional dentist operation I have ever encountered. I went for an initial checkup in December, and the dentist who saw me identified a problem and an expensive course of treatment, to which I agreed, making an appointment to commence this week. When I arrived at the appointed time the (different) dentist) I saw was unprepared and had no clue what treatment was required, saying the dentist who had prescribed the treatment no longer worked there. Then yet another dentist checked the record and established roughly what was required, saying I should schedule another appointment to come back. By that point I had lost confidence. If they can't keep a proper record or prepare professionally, I have no desire to have them messing around with my mouth. I will find another dentist, of which there are many in the locality.

Obviously the staff could not confirm whether they can repair it at the first visit, but when I came for an appointment the work took only a few minutes, the dentist was professional and very polite, and the cost was 25 euros. I am very satisfied with their service.

Experiência negativa: Recepção bom atendimento, porém a dentista está mais em faturar do que resolver de fato o problema. Fiz uma restauração e depois de um mês essa restauração começou a doer. A dentista tirou raio X , disse que a cárie estava muito profunda mas não tinha dado canal. Me receitou anti inflamatório( ibuprofeno) e disse para eu retornar daqui três dias caso a dor não sumisse para fazer o canal. ( Não entendi??). Achei muito contraditório jogou a responsabilidade para mim, dizendo que eu mordi algo duro e por isso deve ter machucado e por isso a dor. Serviço mal feito e má vontade, falta de humanismo com o cliente. Só quererem tirar dinheiro.

Ora se a experiência de entrar numa loja Wells já é de si desanimadora imagine-se numa clínica onde o modelo de negócio é rentabilizar o mais possível. Começou logo por um equívoco gerado numa mensagem de texto onde podia ler que tinha de 'Confirmar com urgência', depois de ter confirmado online e por telefone. Gabinetes minúsculos - o WC era maior que o gabinete de consulta, as minhas coisas, casaco e mochila, tiveram de ficar no chão -, pessoal com pouca formação e sem experiência no atendimento - a secretária atende o telefone e grita, 'Já percebi que é o senhor. Já lhe ligo!', a dentista, muito nova, relata uma lição bem estudada sobre escovar dentes que nada tinha a ver com o meu caso, a assistente, de origem espanhola, sem perceber português, apenas se limitava a tentar entender as ordens que a dentista pedia, e ora tentei lá que um espanhol perceba 'dezoito' -, os equipamentos com problemas - a broca esguichava água que me ensopou o babete de proteção e até isso eu tinha de segurar junto ao queixo para a água não escorrer queixo abaixo. E vendo aquilo quem é que parava a dentista? Ela tinha era de tirar a pedra, queria lá saber se a broca não estava a trabalhar bem. Saí de lá com imensas dores nos dentes - verdade que tenho imensa retração gengival e não, isto não ajuda - mas nenhum dentista alguma vez me mandou para casa a agarrar os dentes e com um orçamento 'para marcar depois de sábado quando abrir a nova clínica'.
